    Douglas 'Doug' Chester Manning passed away suddenly in Red Deer on January 20, 2005, at the age of 56 years.
    Doug was born on August 12, 1948 at Red Deer, Alberta. He loved to go fishing and to drive old junk cars. He was raised and educated in Delburne, Alberta where he also farmed. Doug was the family historian and enjoyed talking about Central Alberta's past, especially Delburne. Doug was very unselfish and a gentle spirit. He will be sadly missed. He is survived by his daughters; Leanne Manning of Vancouver, British Columbia; Erin (Kent) Manning of Vancouver and Becky Manning of Edmonton, Alberta; as well as the mother of his children; Betty Manning of Red Deer. Doug is also survived by his brothers; Bob (Helene) Manning of Delburne and Terry (Priscilla) Manning of Arkell, Ontario, his three grandchildren; Emily, Keely and Reily Courtice, his Aunt Barbara (Bernard) Bowlen of Amarillo, Texas, USA as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Doug was predeceased by his parents Jack and Jean Manning as well as his two brothers; Teddy and Michael Manning.
